Mayor-Elect Kelly Girtz and Commissioners-Elect Patrick Davenport (District 1), Tim Denson (District 5), Russell Edwards (District 7) and Ovita Thornton (District 9), along with returning Commissioner Melissa Link (District 3) will be formally sworn in to office this evening at 5:30 and at 6 pm.
The first swearing in with the state official oath and the required state loyalty oath will take place at 5:30 pm on the front steps of City Hall at 301 College Avenue.
The second with the Athens-Clarke County oath, as required by the Athens-Clarke County charter, will take place during the Mayor and Commission’s Regular Session meeting at 6 pm in City Hall.
