ACC Leisure Services Presents Touch a Truck and Sasquatch Adventure

ACC Government

The Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services Department is hosting “Touch a Truck” Saturday at Southeast Clarke Park. Families will have a chance to explore vehicles of all types, including fire trucks, police cars, construction trucks, and more.

Each vehicle will have trained staff present to answer questions. This program runs from 9 am until noon and is free and open the to the public.

For more information, please call 706-613-3589.

Leisure Services will also present the family program “Sasquatch Adventure” Saturday, March 16th from  pm to 5 pm at Sandy Creek Nature Center.

Organizers say the program is for those willing to hike off trail in search of cryptids; evaluate evidence with an open mind and a good sense of humor; and interested in exploring a large tract of land currently undeveloped and closed to the general public.

Sasquatch Adventure participants will meet at Sandy Creek Nature Center and ride a shuttle van to the Tallassee land tract on the Middle Oconee River.

This group, led by highly trained government staff, will fearlessly search for animal signs, evaluate habitats, experiment with calls, and use other techniques in search of Sasquatch. Wear clothes and shoes appropriate for hiking. Pack a water and a snack for this strenuous backwoods adventure.  Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
