Political Rewind to Record in Front of Athens Audience

Georgia Public broadcasting is bringing Political Rewind to Athens next week.

GPB show is recording a special edition of Political Rewind in front of a live audience Athens Monday, April 8th.

“We’re really excited that we’re finally bringing the show to Athens, we’ve been doing remote broadcasts around the state for the last couple of years.”

Bill Nigut is host and executive producer of the show, which focuses on Georgia politics and issues impacting Georgians.

“Because people right now are so interested in what’s happening in the world of politics, and I’m not just talking about the kind of politics you hear on CNN, MSNBC, FOX, we focus on more on the state of Georgia, on local communities. And there’s still an enormous interest in what’s happening politically.”

Nigut, will be joined by a panel and special guests with Athens ties.

“Two UGA alums, the AJC’s [Atlanta Journal Constitution] lead political writer, Jim Galloway and their top political reporter Greg Bluestein and Charles Bullock, who we all consider the dean of politics in the state of Georgia.”

Nigut says two UGA students will also be included and audience members will have a chance to interact and have their voices heard.

The event is taking place in the University of Georgia Instructional Plaza on Baldwin Street near Grady College at 7 pm.  The special edition will air on WUGA Tuesday.
