UGA Lake Herrick's First Annual Eco-Art Festival

lakeherrickart.wordpress.com

A group of community-engaged doctoral students at the University of Georgia will host the first annual Eco-Art Festival highlighting "environmental stewardship" on April 6 at Lake Herrick.

UGA researchers partnered with artists to create artwork that emphasizes the importance of natural spaces, ecological community, and natural history of the lake.

Along with the art display, the festival will also feature music, food, a community art project, and craft tables for children.

The doctoral students leading the event participated in the Graduate Students Leadership, Engagement, and Development program, or GS LEAD, which focuses on teamwork, leadership, and community engagement.

The festival will be held at the recently-renovated Lake Herrick Pavilion from noon to 5 p.m. on April 6.
