Florida Man Facing Multiple Counts in Athens

A month-long investigation leads to 30 arrests warrants. According to a media release from the ACCPD, after an investigation that took over a month, a Florida man is facing multiple charges in connection with a string of Entering Autos in Athens. Parrish Roberts was recently arrested in Pike County, Alabama. He is also wanted for similar crimes in other areas in the state.

In the Athens’ area incidents, a rental car used to commit multiple Entering Autos was connected to Roberts. After gaining entry into the vehicles, Roberts and an unknown accomplice stole purses containing personal checks and credit cards. These stolen checks were forged and cashed at banks throughout Georgia and neighboring states.

The identities of several victims from the Athens’ crimes were forged and used to cash other stolen checks and victims' financial transaction cards were also fraudulently used in other jurisdictions

Roberts is a known subject involved in “felony lane gang” activity. Felony Lane Gang is a term used that refers to the drive-thru teller lane at banks that are farthest from the teller window, which is most often used by criminals cashing stolen checks.

Roberts faces counts including 9 counts of entering auto, 11 counts of identity fraud, and 10 counts of financial transaction card theft.
