New Executive Director at Oconee Arts Foundation

La Ruchala Murphy is the new executive director of the Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation.

The Oconee Enterprise reports Murphy comes to OCAF from the South Carolina Arts Commission where she served as a grants officer and county coordinator. Murphy has 15 years experience in the arts sector, and is a visual artist herself. She is a graduate of Winthrop University with a bachelor’s degrees in studio art and a master’s in arts administration plus a master of science in nonprofit administration from the University of Louisiana Shreveport.

She will start work in early June.

Jeff has delivered morning news at WUGA Radio for more than a decade. He was among a team at CNN that won a George Foster Peabody Award in 1991 for an educational product based on the fall of the Soviet Union. He also won an Edward R. Murrow Award from Radio Television Digital News Association in 2007 for producing a series for WSB Radio on financial scams. Jeff is a graduate of the Babcock Graduate School of Management at Wake Forest University (MBA) and holds a BS in Business Administration from Campbell University, both in North Carolina.
