Positions Available on ACC Government Boards

ACC Government

The Athens-Clarke County government is seeking residents to fill positions on six policy-making boards by June 7th. The positions are on the Athens Downtown Development Authority, Development Authority of the United Government of Athens-Clarke County, Division of Family and Children’s Services Board, the Hearings Board, the Planning Commission, and the Vision Committee.

The terms range from two to five years, depending on the board. The positions are unpaid, volunteer positions, Applicants must be ACC residents. Applications can be filled out online at www.accgov.com/clearkofcommission, or picked up at the Clerk of Commission’s Office. The deadline for receiving applications is Friday, June 7th.

List of positions and terms:

Two positions on the Athens Downtown Development Authority for a term of two years. One position must be a business owner in the Downtown Athens Area. One position must be a property owner in the Downtown Athens Area.*

Two positions on the Development Authority of the Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County for a term of four years.*

One position on the Division of Family and Children Services Board for a term of five years.

One position on the Hearings Board for a term of four years.

One position on the Planning Commission for a partial term expiring June 30, 2023.

Four positions on the Vision Committee for a term of three years.*
