Athens Land Trust Celebrates 25 Years with Community Carnival

The Athens Land Trust is celebrating its 25th anniversary in the West Broad Neighborhood with a Community Carnival Saturday, June 1st.

The organization has been working with communities in Athens and throughout the state to promote a universal approach to land use that provides opportunities for homeownership, conserves land, and expands access to healthy food.

The Community Carnival at West Broad will feature rides, games, prizes, face painting, music, live dance performances, West Broad Farmers Market (WBFM) vendors, food trucks, and more.

Admission to the family-friendly, block party style festival is free and tickets for rides and games will be available for purchase.

A release from the land trust states that its mission is made possible with support from members, donors, nonprofit, government, and private sector partners, along with volunteers.

The event lasts from 12 to 8 pm.
