Violent Sexual Predator Sentenced

Clarke County Sheriff's Office

A man authorities call a violent, sexual predator has been sentenced to life in prison without parole, plus fifty years.

According to a media release from the Athens-Clarke County Police Department, Charlie William Jordan was arrested in September 2018 in connection with a sexual assault in August.

Recently, an Athens-Clarke County Jury convicted Jordan on charges including Aggravated Sodomy, Human Trafficking, Pandering by Compulsion, and Aggravated Assault.

The department urges anyone who has been sexually assaulted or knows someone who has, to contact the Cottage Sexual Assault Center and Children’s Advocacy Center.

The agency provides a range of free services to victims of sexual and physical abuse, including medical accompaniment, advocacy, referrals, counseling and support groups. The Cottage also maintains a 24-hour crisis and information hotline at (877) 363-1912.
