Athens and much of North and Central Georgia are under a hazardous weather outlook. Forecasters say the main hazards will be gusty winds, frequent lightning and heavy rainfall.

Counties included in the advisory include Clarke, Barrow, Jackson, Madison, Oconee and Oglethorpe.

The National Weather Service is also expecting scattered thunderstorms Wednesday and Thursday, some of which could be strong to severe.
