The Peabody Awards, based at the University of Georgia, is shining a light on storytelling, with a television special on the FX network. “Peabody Presents: Stories of the Year” airs on FX Sunday, July 7 at 10:30 p.m. It will also be available through FX on demand after broadcast.
“We have produced television specials in the past, which have focused on just the awards ceremony, but we really wanted to do something different this year, which was a round table discussion and a deep dive into five of our winning shows,” said Dr. Jeffrey Jones, Executive Director of the Peabody Awards. “
“Jones says that social relevance is an important part of the type of storytelling the Peabodies represent.
“We don’t just recognize great stories, but stories that are about the here and now, and issues that our society faces,” he said.
Viewers can watch “Peabody Presents: Stories of the Year,” moderated by Hasan Minhaj, this Sunday at 10:30PM on FX.
