The Georgia Department of Labor is partnering with the Athens-Clarke County Sheriff’s Department to host a job fair on Wednesday in Monroe. The Sheriff’s Department seeks to hire for a variety of positions. The job fair comes as an Athens-Clarke County internal audit found consistent and systemic staffing shortages in the department, with an average vacancy rate of 12 percent over the last five years. The ACC audit estimates that it will take over two years to fully staff the department.
The job fair will take place from 10AM to 2PM on July 10th at the Athens Technical College Monroe Campus.
