The Athens-Clarke County Police Department reports former officer Cassandra Della Fortuna was arrested on one count each of Misdemeanor Theft, Felony Theft, and Oath of Office Violation.
The charges stem from an ACCPD investigation into allegations that Della Fortuna misappropriated ACC residency supplemental funds that she was not entitled to as well as received pay for hours not worked.
The allegations surfaced in April 2019 and were investigated by the department’s Criminal Investigations Bureau.
Investigators concluded she received more than $3,600.
Della Fortuna served with the ACCPD from December 2017 to July 2019.
