The Athens-Clarke County Police Department is among agencies around the nation taking part in National Night Out next week. The department is inviting members of the community to meet local and state public safety personnel who serve in Athens and the surrounding area.

Festivities include Lil ice cream dude, pizza, a bounce house and more.

The main location is on Fairview Street at the East Substation but satellite locations include University Oaks, Pinewood Apartments, Rocksprings Homes, and Arbor Ridge.

Hailed as America’s Night Against Crime, National Night Out activities run from 6 to 8:30 pm Tuesday, August 6th.

The campaign is aimed at promoting police-community partnerships, enhancing neighborhood relationships and helping to make neighborhoods safer.
