An Athens man is facing several charges after he’s accused of shooting a gun at an apartment complex. According to a media release from Athens-Clarke County Police Department Public Information Officer Geof Gilland, 36-year old Brian Swain, a convicted felon, was arrested in connection with the incident. Officers were sent to a Dispatching Firearms call near the 100 block of Rolling Ridge Drive Wednesday night around 9 pm..
They spoke with several witnesses on the scene that said they saw a domestic dispute between a man and a woman.
Several neighbors got involved to deescalate the situation and the male suspect left. They said he returned and fired a weapon toward the apartment building.
No one was injured in the incident. Witnesses provided a description of the suspect and early Thursday morning, officers saw a suspect matching the description.
They arrested Swain during a traffic stop. He was taken to the Clarke County Jail and charged with two counts each of Reckless Conduct, Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Criminal Damage to Proerty-2nd degree, Simple Battery, and Criminal Trespass-Damage to Property.
