Heads Up Bulldogs! Campaign Targets Distracted Walking

The University of Georgia has unveiled a new campaign for Pedestrian Safety.

The new Heads Up Bulldogs! Campaign is launching today. The start of classes means increased numbers of pedestrians around campus and that raises concerns about pedestrian safety.

The campaign states looking down to read a text or listening to music through ear buds makes pedestrians unaware of their surroundings and presents a safety hazard.

Graphics will be sent to students today, posted around campus, used on campus and made available to others.

While distracted driving is a known safety issues, the Heads Up campaign draws attention to distracted walking. The campaign urges Bulldogs to put down their phones and take out their earbuds while walking.

Distracted driving is also targeted.
