Free Legal Assistance at Access to Justice Pop-up Clinic Saturday

Athens residents in need of free legal assistance can get help this weekend. The Superior Court Judges of the Western Circuit are holding a pop-up clinic Saturday.

Judges from several courts, staff from the Probate Court, and Georgia Legal Services, along with faculty and students from UGA Law School, are taking part in the Access to Justice Pop-Up Clinic.

Attorneys will provide brief individual consultations on topics including family law, expungement/record restriction, employment law, criminal law and more.

The event is taking place from 9 am until 11 am Saturday at the East Athens Development Corporation located at 410 McKinley Drive.

Since the program started in December 2017, attorneys have donated over $50,000 of their time and talents at these free legal clinics.

The Access to Justice program was awarded the prestigious William B. Spann, Jr. Award from the State Bar of Georgia in 2018 for its work with underserved segments of the population.

It also received the Law School Excellence in Access to Justice Group Activity Award in 2018 from the State Bar of Georgia.
