Burglary Suspect Turns Himself to Authorities

Friday afternoon, Bryson Hamilton turned himself in to the Clarke County Jail and was booked on 23 charges.  The ACCPD appreciates the assistance of the public in the search for Hamilton.

The Athens-Clarke County Police Department  is asking for help from the public in finding a burglary suspect.

Police say 21-year old Athens-Clarke County resident Bryson Hamilton is linked to at least 23 Burglaries, Attempted Burglaries, and Entering Autos.

Many of the crimes have occurred along the Hancock corridor.

According to a release from the department, officers used phot evidence and connected Hamilton to a series of incidents in late September.

Police say Hamilton mainly steals electronics –speakers, computers, gaming consoles and controllers as well as backpacks, clothes and shoes.

The ACCPD reminds residents to remove valuables from their vehicles as well as locking vehicle doors. 

To prevent burglaries, lock doors and close windows and blinds.

Residents should also turn on exterior lights, install a video surveillance system, and contact police if you notice suspicious activity in your neighborhood or apartment complex.
