Robbery Suspect Arrested, Facing More Charges

The suspect wanted in connection with a robbery on Oconee Street on October 26th is now facing additional charges.

Police say 30-year old Jose Antonio Ramirez followed a 23-year old woman from downtown to her home. Once inside, he threatened the woman and her roommate called 911.

Ramirez, who is homeless, fled the scene and was located in a parking lot two days later.

According to a department release, officers recovered evidence linking Ramirez to the October 26th incident.

He was arrested and taken to the Clarke County Jail.

Ramirez was charged False Imprisonment, Battery, Burglary and Criminal Attempt to Commit Rape.
