ACC Board of Elections Allowing Voters to Test New Voting Machines

For the first time in nearly 20 years, Peach state voters will use new voting equipment in the upcoming Presidential Primary Election in 2020. Voters in Athens will not have to wait until March 2020 to test the new machines.

The new system not only creates digital images of all ballots, but also securely keeps the printed versions for the Board of Elections as a paper trail for recounts or audits, if needed.

The Athens-Clarke County Board of Elections has a test until available for the public to try out from now until early February.

The machine can be tested at the BOE office Monday Through Friday, from 8 am until 5 pm.

Test units will also be available at public events during December and January.
