Authorities say 22 students have been taken to a hospital to be checked after a crash between two school buses in an area east of Atlanta. Social Circle City Schools told news outlets the crash occurred Thursday morning on a state highway in Newton County.
Staff members met family at the medical facility when the students arrived. There was no immediate word on the condition of those taken to the hospital and it was unclear how many students were aboard the buses. Remaining students were taken to school on a separate bus. Details about the crash weren't immediately released. The Georgia State Patrol is investigating.
