ACCPD/UGA Police Investigate Sexual Assault

The Athens-Clarke County Police Department is investigating the sexual assault of a 20-year old female UGA student happened off campus during the early morning hours Sunday, February 23rd. According to a release from the department, the woman met a male suspect and another person downtown and accepted a ride from them. The assault happened during the ride.

The University of Georgia Police Department is assisting in this investigation and is actively seeking help from the community in identifying the suspects. At one point, the victim was seen being carried on the back of one of the suspects before entering a car and being driven away.  The suspects are described as two Latino males.

The first suspect is described as a Latino male of medium build with dark curly hair, wearing a black button up Columbia shirt and khaki shorts.   The second suspect is described as a thin Latino male with dark hair, wearing blue jeans, boots, a black jacket with a hood and a white shirt, possibly in his early 20s.
