Severe Weather in Athens, Northeast Georgia

Severe weather is expected in Athens and Northeast Georgia. According to The National Service, thunderstorms are expected overnight and into Monday morning. Forecasters say significant long-track tornadoes, along with damaging winds and large hail can be expected.  

Flash flooding will also be possible, and river levels may remain high through early next week.
A severe wind advisory is effect through Monday morning. Winds 15 to 25 miles per hour are expected with gusts up to 35 miles per hour possible. Forecasters say tree limbs may blown down and a few power outages may result.
