COVID-19 Cases in Georgia Nearing 20,000

According to the most recent update by the Georgia Department of Public Health, there are currently 19,881 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state. More than 37-hundred people ae hospitalized, or some 19 percent of cases and there have been 799 deaths, a four percent rate.

Clarke County has 114 cases with 13 deaths. Elsewhere locally, Barrow County has 99 cases and three deaths, Jackson 56 cases and one death, Oconee has 53 cases, Oglethorpe County has 34 cases, three deaths and Madison County has 16 cases and one death.

Statewide, Fulton County leads in number of cases with more than 22-hundred and 82 deaths, followed by DeKalb with 1534 cases, 29 deaths and Dougherty county with 1,446 cases and 103 deaths.
