Jackson County Government Reopens

Jackson County

The Jackson County Government offices have reopened to the public and resumed most operations. According to a release, the county will be following CDC, Federal and State guidelines for safety. The public is encouraged to use online options whenever possible for county business. Those services include the ability to renew vehicle registrations, pay property taxes, obtain a business license or building permit and file property tax exemptions.  Additionally, a lot of these transactions can be handled by mail.

The Senior Center will remain closed until further notice but will continue to provide meals to seniors. Ballfields and playgrounds remain closed until at least May 13, 2020. And while some parks will reopen, visitors are encouraged to follow social distancing and restrictions cited in the Governor’s Executive Order. The Jackson County Animal Shelter will begin normal operating hours, with limits on the number of people allowed to enter.
