Envision Athens Offering Online Training Addressing Trauma Care

As our new normal continues during COVID-19, Envision Athens is offering community members an opportunity understand how stress and trauma from the coronavirus pandemic can impact us. Erin Barger is Project manager.

“We really grateful for the support of the Pittuloch Foundation, through Resilient Georgia, to offer trauma-infomred care training.”

The training which takes place Thursday, May 28 from 8:30 until 11:30 am, is designed for those who do not have an expertise in trauma.

“We are hosting an expert in secondary trauma from Georgia State University, Dr. Brian Bride,” Barger said.  “And we believe that this training opportunity is so timely to look at the impact of secondary trauma and how to help others work thorough trauma.”

There are 500 spots available for Athens-Clarke residents and those in the surrounding area.

“How does the trauma in the people in our service delivery impact the folks providing the service, so how does the trauma in my neighbor’s life and in the life of my community, have an impact on my personally?”

To attend the online training: Trauma: Understanding How it Affects You and Those in Your Care, visit Eventbrite.com to register or email info@athensareacf.org for more information.
