Jackson EMC to Resume Disconnecting Service for Nonpayment July 15

Jackson Electric Membership Corporation

Jackson Electric Membership Corporation, the largest electric cooperative in Georgia, has announced that it will resume disconnecting service for nonpayment starting July fifteenth.

The Jackson Electric Membership Corporation responded to the pandemic by temporarily suspending its policy of service disconnection due to nonpayment of bills. With the reinstatement of this policy approaching next month, the corporation is encouraging members concerned with paying their bills to call and speak with a service representative to avoid disconnection and make further arrangements.

They are also urging members to continue to pay what they are able in order to avoid larger bills in the future. The corporation’s offices remain closed except for drive-thru service, but representatives are available by phone to answer member questions from 7 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday. The corporation can be reached at 1-800-462-3691

Jackson Electric Membership Corporation is also one of the largest electric cooperatives in the nation, headquartered in Jefferson, Georgia, and serving more than 236,000 meters on 14,000 miles of energized wire. More information about service shut-offs can be found at jacksonemc.com.
