The LoveShack: A Concert for Athens, GA To Support Local Nonprofits

LoveShack Athens, GA

Southern Brewing Company is hosting a concert for two Classic City Nonprofits. The LoveShack: A Concert for Athens, GA will feature a local lineup that can be attended in person, following CDC guidelines with social distancing measures in place, or online, or Livestreamed. Troy Aubrey, owner of Aubrey Entertainment, is one of the organizers.

“Southern Brewing Company, LiveWire Athens, and our company, Aubrey Entertainment, all got together to try to come up with a safe concert idea that would work safely for everyone in Athens, because not many live music acts have been playing since March,” says Aubrey.

Southern Brewing has five acres, so there is room for social distancing for those attending live.

The concert benefits Nuci’s Space and AthFest Educates.

“Nuci’s Space has done an amazing job in the community for a long time now, and we want to continue to support them in their time of need so that they can help folks with their mental health and to help musicians. And then for AthFest Educates, those music programs still need to continue here in Athens-Clarke County, so I really believe in their mission,” Aubrey adds.

Live performers include Caroline Aiken, Bloodkin Duo, Kevn Kinney from Drivin N Cryin, and Underground Springhouse. From 5 to 7, DJ Osmose will spin all Athens vinyl and the concert starts at 7.

Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at loveshackathens.com.
