The University of Georgia’s University Council, a faculty, student, and staff body, has called a meeting on August 12 to discuss the University’s response to the coronavirus pandemic. WUGA’s Martin Matheny reports.
On the agenda will be the creation of a special COVID-19 response committee, as well as the endorsement of a joint resolution from the faculty senates of the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Education, which is in places critical of the institution’s - and the University System of Georgia’s – response so far.
That special meeting was announced yesterday after more than 20 members of the council signed a petition to call for it.
