UGA has received the Higher Education Excellence in Diversity Award, administered by INSIGHT Into Diversity, a magazine about diversity in higher education in the U.S and Canada.
The award honors colleges that exhibit outstanding efforts and successes in the areas of diversity and inclusion and evaluates schools on the demographics of its students, faculty and staff, as well as diversity initiatives.
In August, UGA president Jere Morehead announced a task force to develop recommendations to improve campus culture on race. 2020 marks the seventh consecutive year UGA has received the award.
