Statewide Poll Shows a Tight Presidential Race in GA

Ron Adar and Mandel Ngan

The poll conducted for the Atlanta Journal Constitution by the University of Georgia School of Public and International Affairs shows Democratic nominee Joe Biden in a dead heat, 47% to 47%, with President Trump.

Biden appears to be doing better with white voters that Hillary Clinton did in 2016. While Clinton picked up around 21% of white voters, some 30% say they support the former Vice President this year.

Georgia’s two U.S. Senate races are also too close to call. Incumbent Republican David Perdue leads Democrat Jon Ossoff in the poll 47 to 45 percent, which is within the margin of error.

In the state’s other U.S. Senate race, incumbent Republican Kelly Loeffler is polling at around 24%, with Republican Doug Collins and Democrat Raphael Warnock not far behind with 20% each.

That poll was conducted between September 11th and 20th.
