UGA had slightly fewer new cases of COVID-19 than last week with only 64 new cases being reported from October 19th to October 25th. This is the fifth week in a row of less than 100 new cases being reported.

There has been no significant change in testing capacity or positive cases reported from the on-campus surveillance testing at Legion Field, but the positivity rate did go up just slightly this past week to 1.27%. 25 of the new cases were reported from the on-campus surveillance testing. New cases among employees of the University have gone up this week, with 18 of the 65 new cases being among faculty and staff.

The Georgia Department of Public Health is reporting more than 355-thousand cases in the state and 7,876 deaths. The total for Clarke County is 5,748 cases with 48 deaths.
