This past weekend, Phaidra Buchanan was named a 2021 Rhodes Scholar. The Rhodes scholarship is one of the oldest, most prestigious scholarships in the world.
According to UGA Today, Buchanan is an Honors Student majoring in social studies education who plans to "generate policy that promotes equitable funding, school desegregation and culturally responsive curriculum, pedagogy, and assessments."
The University of Georgia has been one of the nation’s top three producers of Rhodes Scholars over the past 25 years, and Buchanan brings the number of UGA scholars to 25.
Phaidra Buchanan and the other 2021 scholars will begin their studies at the University of Oxford in October. Congratulations Phaidra.
