UGA: Dr. Russo Encourages COVID-19 Testing Before Holidays

UGA Today

I am very pleased to see that participation in UGA’s surveillance testing has remained strong in the days leading up to winter break.

Testing at the Legion Field site will continue through December 23, and I urge all asymptomatic students, faculty and staff to take advantage of these free surveillance tests, especially if you plan to be with loved ones over the holidays.

The university will resume testing on January 4, and capacity at the Legion Field site and pop-up locations will be expanded for a period of three weeks.

Testing in the new year will also be conducted using only saliva tests, which are more convenient and just as reliable as nasopharyngeal swabs.
