Kemp Frustrated by Tight Vaccine Supply in Georgia

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp expressed frustration with tight vaccine supplies as he toured a new mass vaccination site outside Atlanta. The site in Jim Miller Park in Marietta allows people to get vaccinated without leaving their vehicles.

Kemp said the state could set up more mass vaccination centers and offer more shots, but it doesn’t have the supply to do so.

"While we have administered over 1 million vaccinations as of today, as a reminder we have over 2 million Georgians who are currently in the phase 1A+ criteria. Our demand is drastically outpacing the supply that we're seeing in our state."

Georgia has now administered one million doses of vaccine statewide and about 500,000 older Georgians have now received their first shot.

President Joe Biden is upping Georgia’s vaccine allotment to 154,000 starting next week.
