Commissioners will meet later today to hear presentations about COVID-19 updates, Barber Street Improvements, public safety, Mural Park, downtown Eco-stations, and the County's Behavioral Health Co-Responder Program.
According to the police department's presentation, the co-responder program aims to reduce encounters with law enforcement by connecting people in crisis to appropriate community resources.
This presentation comes just a few days after ACCPD and a mental health co-responder unit successfully de-escalated an incident with an armed man threatening self-harm.
