The University of Georgia’s women’s basketball team is headed to the NCAA tournament.
The women’s team picked up a 3 seed in the tournament brackets released this weekend. They’ll face 14 seed Drexel next Monday at noon in San Antonio, and if they win that first-round game, the team will face either South Dakota or Oregon in the second round. This is the first time since 2007 that the team enters the tournament with a three seed or higher, and this is the 34th time the team has made the tournament. Two other Georgia teams – Georgia Tech and Mercer – also made the tournament.
The first-round game against Drexel will be televised on ESPN 2.
