Oconee, Barrow, Jackson Counties at High Risk for COVID Transmission

The CDC has listed Oconee, Barrow, and Jackson counties as high risk for community transmission of COVID-19.

The classification is based on the number of new cases per 100,000 people during a one-week period and the percentage of positive tests in a week.

Oconee County cases have decreased by almost 40 percent while the percent positivity rate has remained high at nine percent.

Oglethorpe County cases have remained steady while the positivity rate has increased slightly at seven percent.

Similarly, Barrow County cases have remained steady, with a slight decrease in the number of cases, while the positivity rate has remained high at six percent.
