The Athens Clarke County Legislative Review Committee will meet tomorrow at 1PM. An important item on the agenda includes a nondiscrimination ordinance.
During the meeting, the Legislative Review Committee will examine opportunities for local civil rights legislation.
Chair of the Legislative Review Committee and District 4 Commissioner Allison Wright says a major component of improving the county's nondiscrimination ordinance involves better communication practices.
"We're working on our nondiscrimination ordinance for the county and the improvements on that, and that involves improved communication so that we can take down the barriers for people to report when things are happening to them in a discriminatory way."
