District Attorney Deborah Gonzalez is working to fulfill campaign promises. One of which is a new Data Dashboard to increase transparency in the office.

"Temporarily we're calling it our data integrity project," said Gonzalez. "I want to make sure that we can rebuild trust with the community, and this is one way to do it."

The office partnered with the firm Luminosity, which is compiling the information for free.

Gonzalez says there's a need for this kind of information to be made easily accessible to the public. "I see that people want this kind of data, and it's just not available to them except through an open records request. Well, this data dashboard would actually help us in minimizing some of those requests because people will be able to go and get the information that they want right from the dashboard."

In addition, this month, the office is celebrating victims of crime week.

"We need to make sure that there is an awareness of the victims of crime," said Gonzalez. "If an individual is a victim of a crime, please reach out to our office. We have resources that we can help you with." Gonzalez also says she has hired more than a dozen, experienced assistant DAs to fill vacancies.
