On Wednesday, the Atlanta based music festival Music Midtown announced they would be requiring proof of vaccination, or a negative covid test in order for guests to attend.
This announcement came after Tennessee's Bonnaroo, another major music festival, announced a similar policy. Music Midtown is set to run on September 18th and 19th in Atlanta’s Piedmont Park. Because of the festival’s rule that all vaccinations occur at least two weeks before the event itself, the last day for individuals attending to receive their final shot is September 3rd.
Among the artists performing this year in Atlanta are Maroon 5, Megan Thee Stallion, 21 Savage, and Miley Cyrus.
Music Midtown posted the announcement to their Twitter account as COVID numbers in Georgia and around the country continue to rise.
