Channel 2 Action News in Atlanta reported today that over 680,000 doses of coronavirus vaccines have expired in Georgia since December.
Georgia ranks 44th in the nation for vaccination rate, with only around 40% of the population fully vaccinated. Meanwhile, data from the state Department of Health obtained by Channel 2 revealed that over 680,000 doses— enough to vaccinate the entire populations of Atlanta and Savannah — have expired.
More doses are expected to expire in Georgia before the year is up. Nearly 1 million doses could expire by the end of November if not used.
