The risk for coronavirus transmission remains high in Athens, as cases continue to rise and hospitals fill up.
The Georgia Department of Public Health reported 60 positive cases of COVID-19 in Clarke County today, which brings Athens up to 619 cases per 100,000 in the last two weeks.
In region E of the state, where Athens’ hospitals are at the center, the inpatient beds are at 94 % capacity. Statewide, ICU beds in use are at 88.6% capacity.
