ACCPD Arrests Shooting Suspect/Cedar Shoals Shooting Threat Suspect

The Athens-Clarke County Police Department has arrested an 18-year old Hartwell man in connection with a September shooting. According to a media release, Trontaveous Mattox is charged with four counts of Aggravated Assault.

Police say on September 24th, shortly after 12:30 am, police found a 19-year old woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the 500 block of East Carver Drive.  She was treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation into the incident is still ongoing. Anyone with any information regarding the shooting is asked to contact Sergeant Gregory Dickson at 762-400-7070 or by email at Gregory.dickson@accgov.com.

The ACCPD also making an arrest in the case of a Cedar Shoals High School student accused of threatening to commit a shooting at the school. Several students and parents saw the threats on social media and notified the department. The 16-year old male was taken into custody for Felony Terroristic Threats. He was detained by the Department of Juvenile Justice. Police say there is currently no active threat at Cedar Shoals High School.
