The Athens-Clarke County Police Department is investigating a Tuesday afternoon shooting in the 400 block of Newton Bridge Road. Around 2 pm Tuesday, officers responded to a call about shots being fired. Shortly after the call, they learned a 19-year old male with a gunshot wound being treated at an area hospital. He was the person shot in the Newton Bridge incident. Police say his wounds are not life-threatening.
