Masks Soon Optional at Clarke Schools

The Clarke County School District’s new mask policy goes into effect on Monday.

Starting February 28 masks will be optional for all CCSD campuses. In addition, visitors will be allowed back on campuses for meetings and events

The changes come after a continued drop in positivity rates for COVID-19 in Clarke schools.

The overall case rate among CCSD schools over the past 14 days is below 1% and no one school has a case rate above 5%.

The district may reinstate mask use temporarily depending on the number of positive cases and masks are still required on buses and encouraged at large school-based events or gatherings.
