The Athens Area Community Foundation recently distributed its eighth round of funding from its COVID-19 Community Response Fund in Barrow County.
Including the $200,000 awarded in Barrow County, the fund has distributed nearly $700,000 since its inception in March 2020.
Sarah McKinney is President and CEO of the organization, she says while a wide range of organizations received funds, they targeted food, housing, family stability and positive youth development.
