Struggles with shooting spelled doom for the University of Georgia Lady Bulldogs Basketball team in Ames, Iowa on Sunday. The sixth-seeded UGA team came up short against No. 3 seed Iowa State, 67-44.
The Cyclones surged to an early lead in the first quarter, ending the period with a 23-7 lead. During the first quarter, the Lady Dogs shot a dismal 18.8 percent from the field. Georgia continued to lag behind the Cyclones throughout the game.
Standout center Jenna Staiti put 16 of UGA's 44 points on the board, shooting 47 percent from the field. Guard Que Morrison hit just three of 13 shots in nearly 35 minutes on the court.
Iowa State faces 10-seed Creighton on Friday, March 25.
