GA Dept of Labor
Unemployment rates in the Northeast Georgia region, Feb. '21 - Feb. '22

Local unemployment numbers remained stable in February. According to data released on Thursday by the Georgia Department of Labor, the county’s unemployment rate in February held steady at 2.9 percent. That’s down 1 percent from February 2021.

Athens-Clarke County ended the month of February with just over 100,000 jobs, a record high for the county. 500 jobs were added from January to February.

Meanwhile, unemployment claims were down 87 percent from this time last year.

The stabilized unemployment numbers for ACC reflect a regional trend. The unemployment rate for the northeast Georgia region is also under three percent.
