Taylor Gerlach
File-ACCPD

Three suspects have been arrested in connection with a Saturday shooting in Athens. According to a release from the Athens-Clarke County Police Department, officers responded to a shooting in the 100 block of Rocksprings Court, to find multiple people fighting.

After the situation was under control, police determined that 31-year old Shontiva Myers fired multiple rounds from a handgun toward the ground. Ricochets from those shots struck a four-year old boy and a 34-year old woman. They were treated and released from a local hospital.

Police say four suspects drove from Atlanta with firearms after hearing about a fight involving their juvenile relative.

Myers and 31-year old Jeal Williams were charged with two counts Aggravated Assault and one count of Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Crime. 50-year old Yolanda Myers was charged with Disorderly Conduct. Morel arrests are possible.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Detective Lister at 762-400-7333 or Hovie.Lister@accgov.com.
